Anantamul is a spreading plant that is tridoshic but especially cooling to pitta. It moves throughout the body, removing toxins and cleansing. It stimulates the flow of bile and increases urinary output. It is particularly effective for the digestive system, joints, nerves, and reproductive system.  It is hepatoprotective, electrolyte balancing, and antithrombotic.

It is regarded in India as sufficiently detoxifying to deal with snake venom. 

It is also used to cleanse the mind of negative emotions, especially pitta emotions like anger and irritability. It is pacifying for all three doshas.
