Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that is perhaps the most logical and coherent approach to health and healing to be found anywhere in the world. It is taught in Sanskrit in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka but many colleges and universities elsewhere teach in their native languages. This includes several educational institutions in both North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and other Asian countries like Singapore and Japan.
Ayurveda offers a comprehensive approach to constitutional balance, diet and life style effects on health, as well as detailed understanding of tissue types, abnormalities, and treatments. It also boasts a comprehensive approach to quality of life and longevity.

This site is hosted by Sacred Medicine Sanctuary, a congregation that is part of the International Assembly of Spiritual Healers and Earth Stewards. Content is provided by Dr. Ingrid Naiman who read her first book on Ayurveda in 1968 and has, over the many decades since, acquired a deep appreciation for the logic and thoroughness of Ayurveda.
She majored in Asian Studies as an undergraduate at the East-West Center at the University of Hawaii, B.A. 1962. She received an M.A. from Yale University in 1964, and two honorary doctorates, M.D. from Medicina Alternativa in Copenhagen (should be considered honorary), 1987, and D.Sc. (honorary) from the Open International University in Sri Lanka, 1995.
She runs about 55 web sites and is the author of Cancer Salves: A Botanical Approach to Treatment as well as dozens of e-books on medical astrology as well as herbal medicine. She has lectured and taught all over the world and is currently working on her legacy.
She is the formulator of many of the products found on this site, and has a comprehensive product line of herbs and essential oils.
