Free radicals are responsible for pathogenesis in many conditions and must be neutralized by free radical scavengers or antioxidants. For example, it has been shown that cigarette smoke generates free radicals that can induce DNA damage that can be prevented by antioxidants.

Amalaki or amla is a tropical gooseberry that is one of the richest, if not the richest, natural source of stable vitamin C in the world. It is the foundation of the famous rejuvenation and longevity tonic, Chyawanprash, as well as the intestinal cleansing formula with three fruits: triphala. Bacopa Extract, 2 oz.

Bacopa is an aquatic plant and the primary herb in many Ayurvedic formulas used to improve memory and/or concentration. As such, it aids learning, retention, and clarity. Chyawanprash, 60 capsules

Chywanprash is a highly revered rasayana tonic whose first authenicated formula was published in the 4th century B.C. It is usually produced as a jam, based on amla, a tropical gooseberry with 30 times more vitamin C than oranges. This formula consists of amla and 48 more herbs and spices in a base of clarified butter and honey that has been encapsulated.

Haritaki Extract, 2 oz.

Haritaki is one of the most important herbs in Ayurvedic medicine and the most revered in Tibetan medicine. Haritaki is one of the three fruits in triphala where it exhibits more purgative action than the other two fruits. It is also one of the ingredients in Chyawanprash. It is also used to treat fevers and anemia.

Shilajit Extract, 2 oz.

Shilajit is sometimes regarded as a geological and sometimes as a biological substance. It is a thick, sticky material that liquefies when exposed to heat. It is rich in minerals, some 85 different minerals have been found in it, but it also contains fulvic acid, humic acid, and triterpenes. In Ayurvedic medicine it is added to protocols to enhance the outcome of anything prescribed. It is a rasayana that acts primarily on the removal of excess kapha. As such, it aids the lungs where kapha accumulates, but it is also regarded as an aphrodisiac and longevity substance with nootropic effects, i.e., a smart "drug" or one that improves cognitive function and memory.
